it has happened to me before and it came from a depth charge. I suppose that it could come from a bomb if it hits you in the right place. but this is not a glitch it happens when the rudder gets destroyed (
obviously) and then you have to reload from a previous save. which stinks after you spent 30 minutes to an hour trying to sink a convoy.
