That doesn't always work. I always save those too, but once I got to late 1943 I left base with a saved game file of 300-400 kbs. Within one or two ingame days the first saved game file grew to a whopping 25 MB and was corrupted beyond repair.
Reloaded the Auto Leaving Port...and even the auto entering port files but wham-o ,same thing... over and over... it was hopeless.
