You've probably heard me say this before, but the thing I miss most about living by the sea and being in the navy is the ambience of harbor life. As a boy I spent a lot of time hanging out at King Harbor, Redondo Beach, Cantafordya, just watching the boats come and go.
In SH3 I never use time compression when starting out or returning from a patrol, just because I like to watch the ships and listen to the seagulls and daydream. That's why I like testing mods out - it lets me cruise around without all that nasty messy sinking and killing and stuff.
