I think that by replacing some stuff and adding other, you could get a more individual interior, even if it is not historically correct. I for one would prefer a common interior for all japanese subs that differs from the U-Boats rather than U-Boat interior.

Really? I thought the language would differ a lot (chinese from japanese), so do the characters represent concepts and not fonetics like most occidental languages? That would explain you being able to understand them. |
Actually, Japanese "borrows" a lot of Chinese characters into their language, although Japanese has its own characters as well.
However, in my opinion, the phonetics are quite different. grammar as well.
And I read Chinese characters in Japanese only
