DRM is not about piracy. It is about total control on what customers BUY.
Every single corporation has seen the digital revolution as an opportunity to enforce once and for all a rental-type economy.
Where customers will NEVER EVER OWN anything "intangibile" anymore.
And the gateway to achieve this is DRM.
Piracy is just a scapegoat to thrust DRM down our throats and to "corrupt" politicians in enforcing even more draconian copyright laws.
From this point of view the pirates are actually doing something good, they are raising general awareness of this DRM bull**** and the price that society will have to pay if we go down this path. It doesn't matter that what they are doing is "illegal". Sometimes choosing the right thing to do is illegal.
