reminds me - i was near gibralter last week. nearer than i should have been

and two hurricanes jumped me from out of nowhere.
It was a clear sunny day with calm seas in mid 1941, and i had a full watch crew on the bridge at 1x time compression while i fiddled with some book work unrelated to SH3.
suddenly they spotted the pair of fighters rushing in toward me in a steep dive... but for some reason, they didn't spot them until they were at about 4KM.
2 diving hurricanes can cover 4 KM in an instant.
I ordered the crash dive... even as we were clearing 25 meters i could hear the bullets hitting the hull like a hand full of tiny rocks.
it was a tense moment, as i expected their bombs to hit the sea next... the bombs came, but fortunately they did little more than rock the U-boat.
it was a very close call.
