I've done the photography thing...nowhere near as good at it as my more visually gifted sister, but I've done it...and this is absolutely correct.
You can, with a little makeup, the right light, the right developing, make nearly anyone take a really hot picture. That's how 'Glamour Shots' stays in business, after all. But some people? You can never get them to look as good on camera as they do in the flesh.
Brinkley is a great example, actually, since, if you look at her, while she's 'pretty', she's not 'stunning'. Buttt...there's that photo charisma that, if the guy taking the picture manages to capture a little of it, has a lot more pull than just plain looks.
Motion pictures have a big advantage here, but even they can never capture all of what some people have. Though, for fun, watch some of Brinkley's scenes in 'Vacation', then compare it to a still shot. She'll seem waaay foxier 'in motion'. With a lot of people, it's the exact opposite because they don't have the 'pull'.
