They were able of angle shots except the very early types which were hardly used on u-boats.
The latest G/7 could make up to 37 kn and reached 4000 m at this speed. Speed could be also set to 27 kn and reached then 9000 m. All types had a good visible bubble trail. Calibre was 50 cm. Old types were of 45 cm calibre.
