futility of war...

Futile: 1.the quality of being futile; ineffectiveness; uselessness. 2.a trifle or frivolity:
the large collection of futilities that clutter our minds. 3.a futile act or event.
War stopped world domination by nazism and Japanese militarism, has ended slavery on occassion, and achieved freedom for millions either through national independence or halting aggression ...I would hardly say these were examples of a futile endeavor.
But anyway shouldn't this be down in General Discussion?..
