I'm a geek too (Bigtime !!! You have no idea how many years I spent stuffed in lockers back in middle and high school). I can actually admit to in the past being a part of THIS geekfest... it was actually a LOT of fun (and a LOT of exercize).
Oh Damn, that's a total geekgasm! That is awesome!!!

I've bloodied a couple noses playing that game and it's exhausting with all the running around so you have to be in SOME kind of shape for it.
That game is run nation wide in various places. The Connecticut chapter of it rents a boy scout camp near here for the weekend. You sign in on a Friday evening. Then from that moment on... you're the character that you're playing. You are in game from the minute you step into the game till Sunday afternoon when it ends (Meaning you can get jumped by badies while you're sleeping so you actually have to post watches). There is always a back story involved and the last time I was there, there was a good 100+ people there plus all the referees (usually one for every 10 players or so to judge the combat and recite events that occur to the players while in game). NERO is like a camp out...with COMBAT !!
I could never do it now because I'm too old and frail. I wouldn't be able to handle it.
