True story. I stood on that same podium in 1979, while stationed in Germany defending Skybird from the Russians. It was a really weird feeling to look out over that deserted stadium. One could almost hear faint seig heils echoing off the cracked and weathered concrete.
I thought because i knew the history of what happened there i was letting my imagination get the better of me, but this Samoan guy I was with had barely even heard that WW2 was also fought in Europe, let alone about the Nuremberg rallies and the significance of the podium we were standing on, and without me explaining he said the place gave him the creeps as well so I snapped a few pics and got the heck out of there.
