Thanks SteamWake and WEBSTER for the tips on JSGME; I've been downloading mods and tools like a fiend but have yet to install any.
Can anyone verify this sequence?
1. Uninstall SH4
2a. Reinstall SH4 directly to C drive
2b. Create backup copy of data folder
3. Install tools (JSGME, silent 3ditor, etc.)
4. Install mods
5. Reboot
