Sensitive data should not be on laptops, memory sticks, CD/DvD, etc. I don't care how convenient it is for you. I don't care that you want to use the trendy new technology.
I want you to keep the data secure. If that means putting it on a standalone system chained to a desk in a locked room, so be it.
The security of the data must take precedence over the convenience of the data user.

Data of any kind should always be kept in the office basement, in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying
'Beware of the Leopard'.
There - glad I fixed that problem for future generations to come.
