Well, I can understand them wanting to rob people since Russians don't have much. But the poor stealing from the poor and helpless, now that really gets me. Maybe I have heart, but it's not a good feeling that is in it when I hear these things.

To do these things in America is instant court marshall.

Quantify Russians don't have much? Hey it isn't the early 90's.

Just came back from there for 2 weeks and it seems quite a lot of Russians have quite a lot of stuff. And I'm not just talking about Moscow and its locale, but was also talking to a fair number of old friends in Tomsk and they have decent paying jobs, cars (not ladas either). There is a burgeoning middle class over there.

As for the soldiers. Yep they aren't paid much, well consripts are, I'm not sure about the ones on contract I think about $800-1000 is the average for a full time soldier.

Soldiers looting dead people. What's new in that and it isn't anything unique to the Russians, all sides in war do it....as pointed out by Stealth.
