When it comes to data there is one cardinal rule.
If you make it easy for the good guys to transport it
you are making it easy for the bad guys to transport it
Sensitive data should not be on laptops, memory sticks, CD/DvD, etc. I don't care how convenient it is for you. I don't care that you want to use the trendy new technology.
I want you to keep the data secure. If that means putting it on a standalone system chained to a desk in a locked room, so be it.
The security of the data must take precedence over the convenience of the data user.
