Let me tell you friend, Irak is just as good as any name-brand middle eastern country. It has all the religious extremism and sectarian violence for less than half the cost!

Seriously, though, I can't believe we would sell them m1 tanks. I may be lazziez-faire, but I'm not lazzies-stupid. Even if selling them these tanks doesn't come back to bite us in arse, the government will quickly waste any money they "made" from the sale.
Why not let U.S. companies profit from this situation by selling them arms privately? We have all kinds of designs that the military never made much use of, like the Striker Light Tank or the Commando IFV. Good, cheap designs that can rival Soviet equipment without endangering our own.
