Yep! There is some fascinating history down there. When the Germans surrendered,
a U-boat captain drove his boat right up to Cape May beach and surrendered. There are amazing pictures online somewhere of the surrendered crew, I'll try to dig them up....
And yes, the watch towers still stand strong. Its actually a popular surf spots for my friends and I, known to us as "Towers".
