simply change the needed values to what you want, otherwise you also have to open the .sim file with s3d and change the values there.

I have edited the subs .sim but instead of going to my new settings they actually go down somewhat. (I am using Porpoise class but the same should apply. I'm trying for 50 kts instead of the stock 19 surfaced but now the best I can manage is 16 kts.) To explain it a little better.
I'm coming back to subsim after 3 months of being away on top of going to SH4 so I appolgize for any noob-ness I may show.
