Been on the phone to them again today...
Although I am a gadget-freak, software engineer, and basically bloody good with most technical things I had to go through a step-by-step process of checking my internet connection settings with a techie - although he obviously was not that much of a techie as he too thought that if I only had the MMS WAP Access Point and not the Internet WAP Access Point, I would not be able to send/receive MMS - here we go again....!
So, the response from O2 today... is that I must be connecting to the internet on my browser to get the charges. I told them that there is no way I am going to be charged £1 a day, just to browse the internet on my phone - so I DO NOT BROWSE ON MY PHONE.
I told them - if I am browsing, how am I only being charged pence and not your usual £1 a day tariff? They obviously could not answer.
They also said, that to I can make sure I am never charged in the future by having my GPRS blocked completely. But this would mean I would not have MMS either - even though my tariff includes it. How ridiculous. I just told them, why don't you just stop charging me for something I am not using!
I also said that, even though it may not be a large amount, but if you multiply the amount by their thousands of customers, then it adds up to a nice tidy lump sum. Apparently that is a serious allegation
Well, they have removed the charges, and I have been given a snail-mail address for their complaints department... how lame.
I do not want to have to keep doing this every month
I have emailed GMTV for some guidance...
