Congratulatons! I never sunk anything stronger than armed trawler. A few times I engaged a straggler, and came under fire from escorts who came to help. Beeing stubborn, I didn't want to dive until the straggler went down.
BTW, I guess most of the people here are aware of it, but for those who aren't, here is the
mod that makes damage from gunshots and torpedo impacts look more realistic.
I only found out about it today...
