His PC won't fry. In fact, it's less stressful to leave it running.
Where I worked we once had a PC that was turned off every day at COB, and turned back on every morning. One morning, it wouldn't boot. Since it was under a maintenance contract, we sent it out to our vendor.
The problem turned out to be that the constant heating/cooling cycles from turning it on and off had worked the processor chip out of the socket (before the days of ZIF locking sockets). All it took to fix it was to push the chip back down.
Besides which, the PC I'm posting this on has been on continuously, except for during thunderstorms, for 2+ years with no ill effects.
