This isn't the first time this sort of business has been uncovered by Parliamentary Scrutiny Committees.
The difference now is the fact that most of our shipbuilding capability (submarine apart) has disappeared and the reality is we are now almost totally dependant/vulnerable to outside/foreign pressures.
Those large carriers had they been ordered earlier could have saved up to three shipbuilding yards and thousands of desperately needed jobs.
Shame on the Labour government.
