I don't think USA is attacked on purpose --- many poor countries suffer much more then USA. However, if USA over-depends on other countries in terms of import, she could be hit hard. Take oil as an example --- if USA / Israel attacks Iran and Iran stops trading oil with USA, and attack all USA / Kuwait flagged tankers, USA oil price might shoot up to USD$200 a barrel.
