Brown one is 13 years old and is BARELY 8 pounds in weight. He beats the CRAP out out of the black and white cat at 14 pounds and still to this day is very active. This year alone he has killed 3 bunny rabbit babies and 5-6 mice. The collar you see on both is an electric fence that keeps them in our property.
Yea, that driveway picture of him laying on the concrete was when it was 90 degrees plus - it was a very HOT day. His way of "chilling out" in the heat. Scared the crap out of me when I saw him and ran and got the camera. Being the cheap ass that I am I refused to run the air conditioner in June.
I suggest you rent the movie called "Harry and Tonto" ... very moving movie if you are a cat person. The entire movie was made where I live - Chicago suburbs.
The spouse and I lately have had long conversations of the day when either one has to be put down. Black and white cat is now 10 years old.
Strange ... we been married 29 years [no kids] and these two guys are part of our "family" and daily life. When I get in the morning I have full conversations with both cats and they meow back their thoughts. They usually wake me up between 5 or 6 a.m. EVERY day. If, I decide to sleep later, they jump into our bed [both of them] and use their claws to scratch my face until I get up and feed them cat food from a can. They NEVER do that to my spouse - maybe because I am the ONLY person that cleans out the liter boxes, egh? :p
Got a strange feeling them morning meows can be translated into the phrase "up yours a-hole - Feed us."
