Some of you may remember this fellow from a story I wrote here:
Kptlt. Peter Ullmann was, like his father, a constitutional monarchist who at first accepted Nazi rule as necessary to save Germany from Communism. During the Spanish Civil War, Ullmann, then 2WO on a Type II, believed Germany was correct to intervene against the "Reds" in Spain. But when the Party denounced monarchists as "more dangerous than the Communists," it became clear that Ullmann would have to keep quiet about his politics.
Certain elements of the Abwehr now protect him and his father from the Sicherheitsdienst. In return, Ullmann carries out secret missions, putting himself and his crew in harm's way even more than usual. The stress is taking its toll.
