If you play DW as a sub driver (a natural progression) the differences are subtle but important.

DW has a rconsiderably revised physics engine; it's not perfect but it does mean you will not see the 'on rails' behaviour of certain entities that was present in SC - inertia is more realistic; torpedoes and subs will no longer turn on a sixpence at high speeds, or accelerate and brake like an F1 car.

Torpedoes are also a little more fallible in DW - they are like silver bullets in stock SC, to the extent that it's difficult to do much about one if it acquires you.

Linking and cross-platform comms are good in DW - you'll find the AI coordinates quite well.

Get LWAMI, it adds a lot, although the revised detection ranges can be quite a shock.
