I am aware of that.
My Grandfather was a German soldier back then. But he was no Nazi (he was the son of a communist [from bad to worse huh
]). I don't like this generalization that all Germans of that time were evil Nazis. That's about as true as claiming all Vietnam vets killed civilians and burned villages.
Imagine you were hearing every day that someone made a video game where you can kill all those American murderers in Vietnam while you are just playing a character that is fighting ordinary GIs.
You would get sick of that after some time, be sure of that.
I don't want to say that all those crimes didn't happen or that it was a bad thing that we lost (I'm actually quite glad that I don't have to life under a dictatorship) but you are accusing ca. 60 million people of being mass murderers.
I know we are only talking about a stupid video game but after hearing "in the game you can kill Nazis" while one is not dealing with SS-officers or Nazibosses but with normal soldiers, for 26 years by now I'm really getting annoyed of it.
Maybe I'm a bit oversensitive there but when you hear it every few days that an entire genaration of your countrymen were evil then it really starts to piss you after some time.
O.K. forget I said anything, continue to kill "Nazis".
