Bump for an old thread. I ran across the Aquitania for the first time today. Dec. 1942, just southwest of the tip of Ireland, heading west at 9 kts unescorted. I was almost disappointed that it went down after the first hit, because I could have used the other 3 torps . . .

. . . when I ran into another Aquitania a few days later, in a small convoy heading south along the west coast of Ireland. This one was limping along at 4 kts and sitting low in the water; fortunately it also went down after one hit. The escorting destroyers were not happy.

So, a 124,000 ton patrol in GWX with 90,000 tons of it being Aquitania
