Bitterly dissapointed to have reached 100,000 tons and not even be awarded the Knights cross Has anyone else had this problem???

I believe that awards are doled out on the basis of how much renown you currently have. It also depends on the scale of realism that you're playing. Each ship that you sink is worth a certain number of points. If you're playing at less than 100% realism then you'll only get a percentage of those points; ie. something like 60% of a 240 point ship if your realism is set to 60%.
I should add that the game is really
in bestowing awards. I had a career recently where I was out on patrol & I'd been awarded the EKII (Iron Cross 2nd class), U-Boat War Badge & U-Boat Front Clasp. When I returned to port I found that I'd just been given the German Cross in Gold. I skipped over the EKI (Iron Cross 1st class) and had to wait until the end of the next patrol (return to port) to receive that medal.
I've never seen any messages in GWX 2.1 notifying the player that they'd won any award. I don't send reports, as per the GWX manual, as it may give away your current position.
