My install is from the original disc, which I pre-ordered before the release from Subsim. I did have to install a starforce update, downloaded from their web site.
It's been running fine on Vista both well before and since SP1.
P.S. the simplest way to avoid issues with Vista's UAC, is just install anywhere BUT the default programs folder (mine is in a games directory in my user space). If you install to programs, UAC will mess up patches and mods since SH3 is not set up for Vista's virtual file system under UAC.
