I just looked over the ship pack, trying to pick some out for myself.

My guess is you are probably using the German language setting so the GermanNames.cfg is used. I didnt check it completely but at least the DESKR minesweeper is missing in the German file; not sure if that is enough to cause crashes.. I added
DESKR=Fugas Klasse Minensuchboot
Didnt test it yet 'cause I am not using the full pack but putting only some ships into my SH3 world
