Ever since reading Red Storm Rising I REALLY would like a modern subsim with a dynamic campaign. Picking up that unknown contact after patrolling an area for quite a while would be awesome. You don't know if you're being hunted as well or not. Or you could be working on the unknown contact when you get a message to proceed somewhere else.
You and I think alike. I'd also like something current but not where you have to know every little detail about things. 688i Attack Sub was one I gave a try on many years back. I didn't like the fact that I had to also know and interpret the sonor information myself (don't they send people to school for a few months to learn that stuff first???). I'd much rather just have the sonar man call out he's got a contact, bearing, etc, thank you. Finally gave it up.

There was SUPPOSED to be one called Deep Angel, but it never got released (wasn't sure if it was going to be a game, CGI movie, or both). Set in the distant future, they would use super cavitation to travel supersonic under the sea. Would have been interesting to have a battleship like that and a good plot to work with.

Would be interesting to have something in current time (even nuke subs) with a "limited" war in both Atlantic and Pacific, maybe against pirates, some warlord that took over some country, etc, that we'd have to deal with.

Oh well.........
