Well, I reinstalled the mod and just tested the game, and now I can get silent running. Strange. I guess I'll just chalk it up to a g-glitch.
The time when I had a problem was when I was 200' deep trying to evade a couple of Jap DD's, which was when I discovered I had this slight problem.
