Sometimes I have this queer feeling that these preemptive security measures do not raise security, but sooner or later will make people behave like suspicious terrorists in attempts to adapt to and dodge the omnipresent surveillance. I for example can very well imagine that maybe one not so far away day I will start to avoid electronic communication tools, computer and internet alltogether, even telephone and who knows - maybe even letter writing.

Which makes me a top suspect, because if I have not something evil to hide there is no reason why I should be against being surveilled - that is their perverse logic these days. the same logic that was quoted by the Nazi secret police: "Aufrechte Deutsche haben doch nichts zu verbergen!"

Security authorities and EU politicians in general really need to learn how self-fulfilling prophecies do function. They are creating them by an assembly line, it seems.

Damn, the 80s felt so nice, and wide in time. Today I live by a feeling that it all is just a rathole, and states heading back into the times of absolutism. It really needs efforts not to turn cynical and bitter when listening to daily lunatic news. On occasions like this, I feel old, really old.
