I don't think so on that one. I don't fault the decision to go into Iraq, but I do fault how they planned to deal with the aftermath, such as breaking up the Iraqi army? Or creating super forts so that all Americans go back to these big forts at night leaving the country in chaos at night? How about occasionally doing random patrols?
How could they not see this coming? The short answer is, I don't blame Bush for our Iraq headaches, but I definitely blame Rhumsfield. Our current situation is because of him. His policies from making sure no American deaths happen in Iraq by putting them outside the population to his smaller faster lighter policies which simply don't work. Smaller faster lighter may work for quickyly taking an objective, but to hold it, that is not the answer, that is for sure. His policies would destroy our militaries capabilities given time - look at his base closures even, including sub base closures? He has done irrepairable harm to my country with this in lost talent alone.
