When I was a kid, "D" batteries just got invented, back then they were the rage and cool to have/own.
Way back then there was the adventure series BOOKS - yea you were FORCED to READ a book, by Tom Swift. "Tom Swift and the Nuclear Caves of Fire" was my first book- was a COOL thing to do in 1959 -
READ and imagine an adventure. Now considered - boring.
