So, this pair were stationed a couple kilometres off Esbjerg at anchor or something (2nd Sep '39).
The ship on the left, a danish tug, ID courtesy of the WO. The ship on the right unidentified -couldn't even get a lock on it at such a good range, in calm weather. Simply impossible to do so, for some reason.
My Kaleun thinks to himself 'Hm, they're waiting for something to come into Esbjerg, bows pointed directly towards the harbor -something big, perhaps, if it needs two tugs and it may be Polish or, better yet, an english opportunity, even though I have no idea what hindsight means on Sep 2nd 1939'. looked quizzically at him, but said nothing. He knows better than to distract the Kaleun at this time of the morning.
Question is, though, is this ship with the spotlights a tug? Whassit, if not? Why no lock?
