Peter van Uhm (
Nijmegen, 15 July 1955) is the current
commander-in-chief of the
military of the Netherlands[1]. He succeeded
Dick Berlijn on April 17 2008. Educated at the
Koninklijke Militaire Academie, van Uhm is praised for his fair and effective style of management
[2].
Van Uhm's son,
lieutenant Dennis van Uhm, was killed in a roadside bombing in
Uruzgan, the southern province of Afghanistan just one day after his father's assignment
[3].
