Sigh, yes, it's all caused by SH3Cmdr, and you didn't hit a mine, that was SH3Cmdr too; it randomly sunk you and then bumped up your HI to cover itself and confuse you. It's cunning plan nearly worked, but it's obvious that you're one smart cookie that can't be fooled and saw straight through it. Well done.
Personally, I recommend that you uninstall SH3Cmdr, as it's obvious that it is causing all of your problems, even though it is not running at the time. Then you can be free to sail through the exact same area over and over again.
