Besides the obvious
there's several ports that have large targets frequently/permanently parked there. Just have to start going raiding to find out which ones have what in them. Some don't have a massive ships, but can have a lot of 10,000 ton ships that you can still make a large haul out of. Early in the war seems the best time to find capital ships lying around everywhere, once found two Hoods inside Liverpool
