Ahh my first patrol in a shiny new type XXI boat, just after midnight, leaving Bergen.

"Ooh all the twinkling lights of the town look lovely in the moonlight, Bernard, fetch my camera!"
2 mins later
"Whats that damn buzzing, bloody luftwaffe what time do you call this, people are sleeping down here!!... And wheres Bernard with my camera!"
30 seconds later
"Why has the air-raid siren started up and whats with all those searchlights..... Oh dear."


What followed was possibly the coolest and most chaotic moment ive experienced while playing SHIII.
Pitch black, stuff exploding everywhere, searchlights and AA guns making for a pretty spectacular display over the hills surrounding the harbour.
I escaped with only a few bullet holes in the tower and no real damage.

Little moments like this one are why i love GWX and SHIII and keep coming back long after other games have lost their appeal.
