Anyway, I sailed around the British mainland, back to Wilhelmshaven and transferred to Kiel. Patrol 2 starts late on 29 August. I sail around the harbour a bit, taking in the sights. A large Polish cargo is spotted late afternoon on 31 August, heading East: It's less than 12 hours until things kick off with Poland, so I shadow this ship and the moment Warsaw turns red on the nav map, I sink her: Is that really bad form?
This got me wondering: If I so timed it that I was in inner Scapa Flow, salvo 1-4 primed on the biggest thing I could spot an hour before war with Britain on September 3, and again as soon as the map legend turned grren to red, I let rip and turned about sharpish, would that be considered cheating by people? In fact, could it even be done i.e. would I be attacked on the way in?
Any thoughts?

Yes it could be done and no, you wouldn't be attacked because war had not yet been declared.
Is it cheating ?.....Debatable. You could claim you had insider information of the commencement of hostilities.
Besides, it's hardly realistic is it.....a German U-boat sailing into the Home Fleet anchorage.
The million dollar question though is...are there any units scripted in Scapa prior to the beginning of hostilities
