You might also check the last "autosave on entering port" to see if you had one then and try to remember if you bought anything or moved the deck gun from back to front or front to back. If you did have slots, it may give you an idea of what caused the slots to disappear. And you should have two slots one for the 'triggerman' and one for the loader. At least I think that is why there are two.
