Probably it was only a simple peacetime experiment. The launch/recover of a sub-based airplane is an extremely difficult operation also if the sea is completely calm...then,those S class tincans rolled and pitched quite violently . Maybe the US Navy thought to use it on the Great Lakes in case of war with Canada:rotfl: !!!!!!!!
