What is the name of "Single Mission 2" - is it "Bismarck"? If so, then you may want to submerge and use your hydrophones to listen for the sounds of enemy ships. When you hear them you can set your course in that direction - I suggest you remain submerged, though....

heres a few new ones:

ports? anyone? where are those ..campaign only, or in single missions too??
There are many ports, and they available in campaigns and in single missions. Your best bet is to look at your navigation map to see where they are.

version: I have 1.4,,should I(can I ) patch further,,heard a 1.4 b exists?
V1.4b does exist. You can find it here. You probably have V1.4b installed already, but it can't hurt to verify that you have the final release.

GWX mod 2.0- do I (CAN I) put it on version 1.4? and do just install all the bin files offered and go?
GWX must be installed after you have patched to V1.4b. The GWX installer (included in the downloads) will extract the content of the .bin files and install it into the appropriate folders. Your best bet is to download the GWX Manual (available online here) first and then follow the instructions in the chapter on "Getting Started."

saving: how do I save? which key? and in single missions is this possible or just campaign? see load,,but no save key?
The "<ESC>" key will prompt you to "Save", "Continue", or "Save and Exit." Myxale is correct regarding some "issues" Silent Hunter III (SH3) has with save games

and who's kaleun? lol
"Kaleun" and "Kaleu" are abbreviations for the rank of Kapitänleutnant, which corresponds roughly to the US naval rank of Lieutenant. Most U-boat commanders held this rank, so people on this forum will occasionally address eachother with that honorific.
