I get the exact same FPS range you do except I am at 1680x1050. Multiply what your getting by x2. Crazy though isn't it?:hmm:
I will get one of those cards soon (9800 GX2). I will use EVGA's stepup program, the only draw back is waiting a week to get the card (send mine and wait to receive the new one)but the money spent for your old card counts towards your purchase
$320 for a 9800 GX2, count me in !!
