re: Kronika; you could be right. My grandfather was telling me the story of the phone tonight, and he explained how they (our relatives) went to the equivalent of the county seat and found reference to our family in these huge books that were 4' by 4' roughly in dimension.
So he then goes on to explain that he can't remember the name of the town. He said grandmother wrote it down... Soooo
He goes to get the paper she wrote it down on and mutters something about kranika or kronika and i ask him if that's the town and he says "Oh yes, that's it!" Well, he gets the note and decides he cannot decipher grandmothers writing
Heh...
So i think i'll need to just wait and talk to the actual relatives who went over there.
