Actually using programs like MemTurbo can harm performance. Windows uses spare memory as a cache, and programs like Memturbo often delete this cache to give the appearance of having more free memory, which means more hard drive use. RAM seek times are measured in billionths of a second, hard drive in milliseconds. RAM throughput is measured in thousands of megabytes per second, hard drive speeds in tens of megabytes per second.
Defragmenting your RAM is about as beneficial as defragging your flash drive...which is to say... not beneficial (actually harmful for flash drives). RAM seek times are so small as not to matter whether its 'fragmented' or not.
