Brilliant! is all I can say. My only contention with yer man is to say islam is inferior to western culture. I just think it is different. What does piss me off however is people who live in another country and put down the laws and conventions of that country. I'm not talking about total integration, let them wear the clothes they want, follow the religion they want etc, but they should remember one thing: They chose to live there because it was better than living in their own country. And if their offspring don't like it, they should go back to their roots.
I don't consider myself racist in any shape or form, I don't give a s**t about colour, religion, sexuality or any other aspect of being a human being, but if I go to live in another country, as I have several times in my life, I have always tried to live by that country's laws, respect it's traditions even though they might be different from my own, and tried to speak at least a little of it's language. It's about respect for others and quite frankly, my perception is that many Muslims living in the UK just don't give a damn about any of this. It's all about Islam being the only true way, just like the Christans do about Christianity. The only good thing I can think of to say about Islam is that at least they don't come knocking on my door telling me I'm wrong to be an atheist like the Mormons and the Jehova's Witnesses do - but that's probably only a matter of time. OK, we have CCTV all over the place, calls for all-round DNA (see thread: Hitler would be proud) but the UK still isn't a patch on Iran or Burma or Saudi in terms of civil liberties. Get real guys, in England, you are allowed to criticise religion. Like it or leave. I don't believe Jesus was the son of god, nor do I believe Mohammad was a prophet. I'm allowed to say that in the UK - so are you. Live with it. It's what is known as freedom of speech.
