Digital_Trucker explained it better than I could have. That is why I arranged the skins the way I did. If I enabled a certain skin, say a gray one, the way the files are in the original skins, I would have a gray skin in the early parts of the war when I shouldn't have it. I was poking my nose around the game Data directory when I noticed that each sub had a black skin and a gray skin dds file. Let's use the Balao, for example. In its folder, it has an NSS_Balao_T01.dds file and an NSS_Balao_T02.dds file. The T01 is the file for the black skin. The T02 is the gray skin. Each conning tower had a similar setup. The original skin packs don't have different skins. I originally had all FooFighters' skins downloaded and added to my JSGME MODS folder. This was way too much of a hassle to switch between gray and black skins all the time. This way all you have to do is enable one skin pack and have black skins for early war and gray ones for late war. Additionally, since I just put my favorite FooFighters skins in this pack, it is easy to switch them out of you like a different one (take the NSS_Submarine_T02.dds from your favorite gray skin and replace the respective file in this skin pack). All the black skins are included so that won't be an issue. However, you may like a different gray skin than I included.
